SOUTHERN MX RACING  INFO
1.  Yellow Flags:  When the yellow flags are out there is a problem in that area, riders MUST be in control and use caution.  If you hit a rider, a track worker, or an EMT you risk being disqualified or penalized.
2.  Red Flag: When the red flag is out, a rider is receiving assistance or there is danger on or near the race track or the race has been stopped.
3.  Cutting the track:  If a rider leaves the designated race track and will gain a position or have unfair gain, they must re-enter the track where it was exited.  If we feel that the rider made a wrong judgement call they will be docked a position.
4.  Scoring:  For a race to count towards the required number for series overall awards, the rider must sign up and be able to ride.  If the rider suffers an injury or mechanical problem the race will count, provided the rider doesn't want a refund.  Rider will receive last place points.
5.  Switching bikes:  If the riders experience mechanical problems, they can switch to another bike or ATV before the race starts.  If rider switches bikes during the race, they can race but will be scored last.
6.  Switching riders:  Allowing another rider to ride under your name will result in disqualification and possible banned from racing in any SMX event.
7.  Unsportsmanlike conduct:  This includes fighting and or dirty riding.  If you are confronted by anyone do whatever you have to do to get away and notify the referee.  The referee will make a judgment.  Riders will be held responsible for all actions of their pit crew, friends and or families.
8.  Posted results:  Riders are responsible for checking their results after each moto and making clerks aware of any problems within  the 30 minute protest time.
9.  ATV's:  All ATV's (except PeeWee) must have a tether style kill switch.  All ATV's must have a rear number plate.  If the scorers can not see your number, you will not be scored.
10.  Loud exhaust systems:  With all the new emissions and close neighbors to tracks, we are asking that you stay away from the loud exhaust systems.

START RULES:
All riders need to attend the riders meeting.  New information may be covered and at this time you can voice your opinions on the day's events.

It is the rider's responsibility to be at staging early and to be ready to race.  If for some reason rider can not be on the line, rider has 2 minutes to get on the line.

Classes will be staged by random computer printout.

It is the rider's responsibility to check their gate.  After you have picked your gate, inspect it to make sure it is free of dirt clods, rocks and anything else that might keep your gate from falling properly.

When the white flag comes out before your race, it is time to start getting ready for your start.  The start card can go up before the last rider is off the track.

The #2 card will be displayed and the card person will point down the line to make sure there are no problems.  If you have a problem, wave your arms and get the attention of the card holder.  You will have 2 minutes to fix the problem and be ready to race.

In the 50cc and 65cc classes, parents need to back away from the riders when the card goes to one.

Blocks are allowed for the short riders but please remove them as soon as your class leaves the line.

Darrell Bell and Donnie Davis are the official referees for Southern MX.  We try to make the best decisions for the riders.  Rules are subject to change if we feel that it is in the best interest of the riders.  We will not always please everyone, but the decisions will be fair.

We have tried to cover everything, if there is a problem that has not been covered, please contact the referees.
